Competency is more than training completion

Training completion shows that a person has completed learning. Competency sign-off shows that they have been assessed as safe for a specific task, intervention, environment or package requirement.

Useful competency evidence

Good evidence normally includes the task assessed, assessor, date, outcome, restrictions, supporting notes and review expectations.

Deployment decisions

Staff should not appear ready for deployment simply because a profile exists. Readiness should reflect compliance, training, competency, package authorisation and any controlled exceptions.
